Launching the Olympic Dam expansion project

On March 26th 1999, WMC Limited opened its Olympic Dam expansion with a world class function, hosting guests including Prime Minister John Howard. This event marked the official global launch of 'A New Age, Olympic Dam', WMC’s $1.2 billion expansion at one of the world’s largest copper and uranium mining operations.

For the launch, one of the biggest of its kind in Australia, WMC Limited commissioned de Masi jones to work with their senior marketing team and event organisers on all promotional and branding materials to cater for the 500 expected international guests and media.

The scope of work included the official themed logo, a style guide for all event personnel and other contractors, the official plaque, event brochure, launch menu, event program, the official invitation, packaging for a commemorative bottle of port, a set of interpretive display-banners and a range of event-stationery.
