Dare Sutton Clarke Engineers
Redesign of Corporate Branding

Showcasing a company to the world

As a leading Australian engineering group for over 20 years, Dare Sutton Clarke approached de Masi jones in early 2001, with a view to undertaking a simple analysis of their current brand. The firm had not reviewed their identity for some time and they were poised for expansion with international projects and plans for a new office in Brisbane.

After spending a month reviewing all elements of the existing DSC brand, de Masi jones was commissioned by Managing Director, Mike Dare, to undertake a brand rejuvenation. The challenge was to bring their brand identity into the 21st Century, without straying too far from the core historic identity that their existing clients and directors had become accustomed to.

The corporate name Dare Sutton Clarke was re-designed to connect all the founders’ names in a modern single-line of text representing many years of solid unity. The existing circle and triangular symbol was taken away from the name and re-utilised within the graphics as a ‘moving mark' and positioned as a functional support-piece for the overall DSC brand.

The scope of work included development of a new corporate identity, its application to stationery, corporate forms, marketing literature, a boardroom interpretive display and a new website.
